PREVIEW: RUSH VS WARRIORS (JAN.20)

Saskatoon, SK –– The Saskatchewan Rush (1-3) and Vancouver Warriors (1-4) will battle it out at SaskTel Centre on Saturday, January 20th

 

The Rush are coming off an 11-10 overtime loss against the Albany FireWolves on New Year’s Eve. Zach Manns had three goals and three assists to lead the way on offence. He currently tops Saskatchewan with 13 goals and 10 assists. Ryan Keenan had a hat trick in the loss, while Robert Church contributed with four points. Frank Scigliano made 46 saves, a season high for the B.C. product who boasts a .791 save percentage this year.

 

Frankly Speaking: Per LAXMetrics, Saskatchewan netminder Frank Scigliano leads the NLL in 1v1 save percentage.

 

Vancouver, which features former Rush members Aaron Bold, John Lintz, Brett Mydske, Riley Loewen, Matt Beers and Ryan Dilks, lost 14-7 against the Calgary Roughnecks. Ryan Martel led the way with three points in the loss. Adam Charalambides leads the Warriors with 22 points this season. Steph Charbonneau leads the way on defence with seven caused turnovers and Reid Bowering has 34 loose balls. Between the pipers, Aaron Bold has a .755 save perentage. 

 

My Oh Martel: Through just five games this season, Ryan Martel has racked up 20 points, just five short of his career high. 
 

Saskatchewan is 15-5 all-time against the Vancouver Warriors and Stealth. Last season, the Rush went 2-1 against their B.C. rivals. On February 4th, Sask won 14-8 at Rogers Arena, February 25th the Warriors won 16-12 on Co-op Field and on April 1st, Robert Church had the OT winner in a 12-11 thriller at SaskTel Centre.
