PREVIEW: Saskatchewan vs Buffalo (Mar 1)

Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatchewan Rush (9-2) and Buffalo Bandits will meet on Co-op Field in SaskTel Centre on Saturday, March 1st at 7:00PM. 

The Rush are coming off a 10-7 win over the Vancouver Warriors in Rogers Arena. Clark Walter had two goals and four assists to lead the offence, while Saskatchewan got multi-goal performances from Walter, Brock Haley, Robert Church and Austin Shanks. Zach Manns still leads the team with 52 points this season. Frank Scigliano made 31 saves in the game, bringing his season save percentage up to .791 and his goals against average down to 9.60. 

Long Overdue: Despite sweeping the 2016 final over Buffalo, Saskatchewan has never beat the Bandits inside SaskTel Centre during the regular season, going 0-3 with the last meeting on March 16th, 2019, where the visitors won 12-11 in overtime.

Buffalo’s last outing was a 13-12 win over the San Diego Seals in Pechanga Arena. Kyle Buchanan scored the game winner with less than five minutes to play, capping off his hat trick performance. Dhane Smith leads the club with 78 points in just nine games. Matt Vince stopped 38/50, bringing his season save percentage to .790 and his goals against average to 10.55. 

On The Line: Buffalo will be looking to hold on to top spot in the NLL when they face off with Saskatchewan on Saturday night. Winner of the contest will grab the first seed for the time being as the March to May kicks off.  

Faceoff from Co-op Field is at 7:00PM Sask time. Viewers in Canada can watch the game on NLL+ and TSN+, with those in America on CW23 and ESPN+ with Cody Janzen, John Fraser and Omran Wahidy on the call. The game will be aired the following morning on tape delay via ESPNU. Following the game, Rush fans can catch the official post-game show live from the turf with Janzen and Fraser during team autographs.
