PREVIEW: Saskatchewan VS Halifax (Feb.24)

Saskatoon, SK –– The Saskatchewan Rush (3-4) and Halifax Thunderbirds (6-4) will battle it out on Co-op Field at SaskTel Centre on Saturday, February 24th. 

 

The Rush are coming off a 13-9 win over the Vancouver Warriors. Ryan Keenan led the way with three goals and six points in the victory, bringing his season total up to 34 points. Clark Walter and Patrick Dodds each had four-point performances in B.C. Frank Scigliano made 35 saves against Vancouver, bumping his save percentage to .795 this season. 

 

Zach Attack: Saskatchewan Rush forward Zach Manns has 41 points in nine career games against Halifax. 

 

Halifax’s four-game winning streak was snapped in their last outing thanks to a 17-11 loss against Calgary. Ryan Benesch had two goals and three assists in the loss, with Clarke Petterson, Dawson Theede and Aaron Woods tallying multiple goals. Warren Hill made 32 saves on 45 shots, sitting him with the loss and a save percentage of .751 on the season.

 

Top Dog: Thunderbirds forward Clarke Petterson leads the team in points with 55 this season, including an eight-point effort back on December 1st.
