PREVIEW: Saskatchewan vs Ottawa (Apr 19)

Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatchewan Rush (12-5) and Ottawa Black Bears (8-9) will meet on Co-op Field in SaskTel Centre on Saturday, April 19th at 7:00PM. 

The Rush are coming off a 11-6 win over the Colorado Mammoth in Ball Arena. Austin Shanks scored four times and is now tied for the team lead with 33 goals this season. Zach Manns had a goal and assist, bringing his season total to 69 points. Frank Scigliano made 38 saves in the win, setting his current goals against average at 9.56 and save percentage at .795. 

New-ish: Saskatchewan faced off against the majority of the Ottawa Black Bears roster twice last season when they were the Ottawa Riptide, with the teams splitting the season series. 

Ottawa defeated Las Vegas 13-10 in Canadian Tire Centre thanks to an eight-goal game from Jeff Teat. Teat leads the team with 53 goals and 107 points. Between the pipes, Zach Higgins made 40 stops, bringing his season save percentage to .793 and a goals against average of 10.63. 

The Key: Over his last nine games, Jeff Teat has scored 40 goals. He’s five off his career high of 58 set last season.    

Faceoff from Co-op Field is at 7:00PM Sask time. Viewers in Canada can watch the game on NLL+ and TSN+, with those in America on ESPNU and ESPN+ with Cody Janzen, John Fraser and Heather Morrison on the call. Following the game, Rush fans can catch the official post-game show live from the turf with Janzen and Fraser during team autographs.
