PREVIEW: Saskatchewan VS Riptide (Mar.16)

Saskatoon, SK –– The Saskatchewan Rush (4-6) and New York Riptide (6-7) will battle it out on Co-op Field at SaskTel Centre on Saturday, March 16th. 

 

The Rush are coming off a 15-14 overtime loss against the Bandits in Buffalo. Robert Church scored six goals in the losing effort. He currently leads the team with 57 points this season. Ryan Keenan had a seven-point game, while Patrick Dodds had two goals and four assists. Frank Scigliano made 40 saves, putting his save percentage at .780 this season. 

 

Double Double: This is the second time ever that the Saskatchewan Rush and New York Riptide have faced off, with the Rush winning the lone contest 11-4 back in 2019 at Nassau Coliseum.

 

New York snapped a three-game losing skid with a 13-11 win at home over Las Vegas. Jeff Teat had two goals and nine points in the win, while Larson Sundown had the sock trick. Teat leads the team and entire National Lacrosse League with 87 points this season. Cameron Dunkerley made 37 saves for his sixth win of the season.

 

Canada Bound: The New York Riptide are relocating to Ottawa and becoming the Black Bears ahead of the 2024/25 season. 

 

Faceoff from Saskatchewan is at 7:30 p.m. CST. You can listen to the pre-game show on 92.9 The Bull with Pat Dubois, John Fraser and Cody Janzen starting at 6:00pm.
