RUSH EXPLODE FOR 10 GOALS IN SECOND HALF TO REMAIN UNDEFEATED

Rush explode for 10 goals in second half to remain undefeated

Dec 21, 2024

The Saskatchewan Rush filled the net once again in the second half to remain 3-0 on the season after a 14-12 win over the Rochester Knighthawks.

In the first quarter, Mike Triolo opened the scoring with his first of the season, followed by goals from Brock Haley and Zach Manns to put the Rush up 3-2.

Knighthawks fans got something to cheer about in the second quarter as they grabbed a 5-4 lead despite another goal from Manns.

Shot out of a cannon in the second half, Ryan Barnable opened the flood gates as the Saskatchewan scored five straight goals in the third quarter. Barnable, Manns, Austin Shanks (x2) and Josh Zawada found the back of the net to put the road side up 9-6.

The 4th quarter saw the offence continue to cook, as Shanks would bury two more, along with singles from Triolo and Haley. But once the game got to 13-7,the tides turned as Rochester stormed back to make it 13-12 with less than a minute to play, before Matt Hossack iced the game with an empty netter.

At the dot, Jake Naso won 25/30 faceoffs. Between the pipes, Frank Scigliano made 35 saves for the win.

This is the first time since the 2017/2018 season that the Saskatchewan Rush have started 3-0.

Next up on Co-op Field, the Saskatchewan Rush host the Philadelphia Wings to Co-op Field in SaskTel Centre on Saturday, December 28th at 7:00PM.
