Rush prospects make preseason All-American list

Jan 26, 2024

USA Lacrosse released their preseason All-Americans list which features two Saskatchewan Rush prospects as honourable mentions.

First-round pick in 2023 Levi Anderson was listed as one of the players to keep an eye on as his Saint Joseph’s NCAA squad looks to make a run in the college lacrosse ranks this spring. Anderson, from Calgary, Alberta, is a 6'4 forward who was a standout at the 2023 Presidents Cup with Mike Triolo and the Edmonton Miners. In 21 senior games this summer, Levi averaged 5.5 points per game in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League. Levi and his Saint Joseph’s Hawks squad open the season on February 6th against Boston University.

In the second round of the 2023 NLL Entry Draft, Josh Zawada was selected by Saskatchewan. The Raleigh, N.C. product was listed as an All-American honourable mention after four incredible seasons at Michigan, before transferring to Duke for his grad year. In 51 NCAA games, he holds Michigan’s all-time points record with 213. At the 2018 Minto Cup, Josh had a goal and six assists in four games while playing with Saskatchewan's first-round pick, Anderson. Zawada joins a Duke squad that is loaded with future NLL stars like Dyson Williams and Brennan O’Neill. Duke opens their season on February 3rd when Bellarmine stops at Koskinen Stadium.

February 17th, Anderson and Zawada will face off in Durham, North Carolina, as the Hawks and Blue Devils clash for the first time of the season.

Both prospects are currently on the Rush’s “Draft List” and will get their first taste of National Lacrosse League action this fall for the 2024/2025 season.
