Rush sign former SWAT defender
Oct 5, 2023SASKATOON – The Saskatchewan Rush have signed another former Junior A SWAT alumnus.
On Thursday, Derek Keenan signed defender Samuel Marshall to a two-year contract.
Marshall was selected in the 5th round (72nd overall) of the 2023 NLL Entry Draft.
He is the first Franciscan NCAA lacrosse player drafted into the NLL in program history and first Franciscan athlete drafted in any sport since 1980, when Stanley Lamb was drafted by the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks.
Over his two seasons at Franciscan, he has scored 62 goals and added 29 assists in 26 games played. His 3.5 points per game is fourth best in program history.
Marshall also represented Canada at the IIJL World Juniors twice, taking home a silver and gold medal.
