Rush Return To FM Radio

Saskatchewan Rush returning to FM radio

Oct 25, 2023

The Saskatchewan Rush are pleased to announce a partnership with Saskatoon Media Group (SMG) for the 2023/24 season.

The broadcast partnership features the most extensive pre-and post-game coverage in the National Lacrosse League with a one-hour pre-game show and 30-minute post-game show for all home games on 92.9 The Bull.

On the road, fans can tune in to all the play-by-play action starting with an abbreviated pre-game show and closing with interactive post-game coverage with voice of the Rush, Cody Janzen.

“Saskatoon Media Group is thrilled to team up with a first-class organization like the Rush and we are looking forward to providing our Bull listeners with exciting lacrosse action that they can hear on the radio and on our app,” said Steve Chisholm, SMG's Director of Programming.

Cody Janzen will be back for his third season as the club's play by play announcer, taking you through every goal, hit and save throughout the season, starting with the November 25th pre-season game in Moose Jaw.

“Growing up in Saskatchewan, there’s no place I’d rather be calling games,” said Cody Janzen. “Professional sports are a pleasure to broadcast, but there’s no game in the world that compares to the excitement of box lacrosse and Rush fans make every gameday even more special.”

Alongside Janzen, for a second straight season, John Fraser and Sabeen Ahmad will be providing analysis, insight, and entertainment during all the home gameday coverage on your FM dial and online.

Sabeen Ahmad is in her third year of broadcasting with the Rush, handling the bulk of player interviews and providing in game insight from floor level. Sabeen brings the listeners right to the action, so they don’t miss a beat on a nightly basis.

John Fraser is entering his 5th season of NLL announcing, bringing the energy every time he turns on the microphone and applying his wealth of local lacrosse knowledge to the airwaves. Fraser famously called Jeff Cornwall’s late game heroics in the 2016 NLL Championship.

The first road broadcast of the season on 92.9 The Bull will be on November 25th in Moose Jaw, when the Saskatchewan Rush face the Calgary Roughnecks in a preseason tilt. This is the first ever professional lacrosse game in southern Saskatchewan.

Lacrosse fans around the province can listen to 92.9 The Bull or go online to TheBull.ca for full coverage.

In addition to the new radio broadcast deal, fans will still be able to watch Rush games on TSN+ as in previous years.

Cody, John and Sabeen will guide you through gamedays from radio to TV at SaskTel Centre. Saskatchewan’s home opener against the Rochester Knighthawks on December 9th will be the first TSN+ broadcast of the year.

Fans looking to subscribe to the video service can do so at tsn.ca/tsnplus.

Tickets are available now available for the home opener on December 9th.
