Scigliano stops 46 against Albany in overtime loss
Dec 31, 2023Saskatoon, SK - Sunday night at SaskTel Centre, 60 minutes wasn’t enough to settle the score between Saskatchewan and Albany on New Year’s Eve.
Ryan Keenan, Zach Manns and Mike Triolo found the back of the net in the first quarter for the Rush.
Manns was the team’s lone goal scorer in the second frame, with the Rush trailing 7-4 at the half.
In the second half, Manns completed the hat trick, while Jerrett Smith and Robert Church capitalized as well, but Albany led 10-7 heading into the final quarter.
Saskatchewan was able to level it out at 10-10 thanks to Keenan scoring twice and Nathaniel Kozevnikov burying his fifth of the season.
In overtime, Ethan Walker sent the FireWolves with the win as he ended the game 55 seconds in.
Goaltender Frank Scigliano was spectacular in the losing effort, making 46 saves on Co-op Field.
Next up, the Rush will head to Philadelphia to take on the Wings on Saturday, January 13th.
