Triolo buries game winner against former team in Rush win
Feb 3, 2024SASKATOON, SK - Robert Church scored four goals and chipped in with four assists in Saskatchewan's first home win of the season Saturday (Feb.3) night against Panther City.
Nathaniel Kozevnikov opened the scoring with his sixth of the season. Church potted the other as the game was tied 2-2 after 15 minutes of play.
In the second quarter, Zach Manns scored his first of the game just 23 seconds in. He'd add another less than five minutes later, with Patrick Dodds third of the season putting the Rush up 5-4 at the half.
Church would bury a pair in the third quarter, with Jake Boudreau netting his third of the season as Sask went up 8-7 heading into the final frame.
Panther City would score four straight goals to stun the home crowd, before the Rush flipped the script. Down by one, Robert Church ripped a shot on the run post and in to tie the game 9-9. Then, former PCLC forward Mike Triolo slipped one under the bar against his old goaltender giving the Rush a 10-9 lead.
Frank Scigliano held the fort, making 42 saves for his second victory of the season. Zach Manns and Ryan Keenan finished with five points each.
